Our client is looking for a IT Applications Trainee on a 11-month contract in Memphis, TN.

Contract Duration: 11 Months

Required Skills & Experience
  • High School Graduate/GED.
  • No experience required.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Have experience in writing queries to extract data from a database using SQL or any backend query language.
  • Knowledge of Web Services and APIs.
  • Multitasking skills.
  • Collaborate with customers and other team members to analyze, understand the concerns, and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work as a team.
  • Critical thinking - the ability to identify the root cause of an issue and suggest possible solutions.
  • Capable of understanding the code and ability to resolve support tickets within the stipulated SLAs with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Major in information systems or computer science.
  • Education in interpreting user requirements, business applications design and development of business applications strongly.
  • Specific knowledge of Oracle databases, PL/SQL, C#/C /C, Open Source, Korn Shell Script, Perl or Progress 4GL.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Rest APIs.
  • Have experience using document source control software.
  • Service Now or any IT Service Management (ITSM) tool experience.
  • Corporate Networking experience.
  • Ubuntu/Unix Familiarity.
What You Will Be Doing
  • Oriented and trained in the client's software development lifecycle.
  • Working under close supervision performs the following duties.
  • Assist in the development/modification of simple software programs.
  • Assist in the development and submission of requirements to programmers and participate in review sessions with IT colleagues.
  • Develop an understanding of client's IT processes and procedures, including the software development life cycle.
  • Develop skills and knowledge in required development language to perform assigned tasks.
  • Under close supervision, assist in the performance of the following duties: Data and system analysis, including loading and balancing creation of derived fields and formatting, process flows and data diagrams.
  • Requirement development process and unit testing of simple code units.
  • Development and testing of software using Informatica, PL/SQL, Progress, Microsoft.net or other programming languages as specified.
  • Investigation of issues and development of resolution in a timely manner with a technical leader.
  • Follow per-established departmental standards and guidelines as they pertain to design and development.
  • Adhere to the goal of delivering and maintaining the highest quality of customer service to our clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the organization's quality program(s).
